Lots of female riders are reluctant to wear cycling shorts. The main reason we came across was the way their thighs looked when wearing them.

One of the critical parts of shorts and bibshorts are the leg grippers. They have a very important function in keeping everything in the right place when you are riding.

But though all our leg gripper options work well in terms of fit and comfort, some are too constrictive when used on softer female skin tissue. This sometimes makes female riders, even the most athletic, like they have gained a couple of kilos.

That’s why we’ve started looking for better options. One of those options can be found in our Epic line of bibshorts for women.

In the Vesper Bibhort Soft we took a different path. We used a soft type of Lycra on the leg ends and folded it double (so you have the soft side on the inside and outside of the leg ends). The result is a leg end that gives just the right amount of compression to keep the short in place, without being too constrictive.

The Vesper Bibshort Soft is a nice example of the way we work with existing materials. We rethink the whole concept of a short until it fits the needs of the rider. It is the short of choice for every woman looking for comfort, wearability and good looks.

VESPER BIBTIGHT TEMPEST PROTECT (VAPOR UNI PAD)

Being both wind- and waterproof, the Vesper Bibtight Tempest Protect pad is the ultimate bibtight for female riders looking for a bibtight that’s suited for really cold days on the bike.

The bibtight is breathable which means it can maintain a constant body temperature.

The newly designed bibs provide additional support in a riding position.

Freedom of movement is often an issue. So instead of straight legs we’ve inserted knee inserts made out of a less rigid type of fabric.

The Vapor pad is part of our newest generation of pads, and it’s a big step forward in terms of breathability and damping. Main research question during development was: how can we improve the damping needed to cope with the stiffness of carbon bikes without adding more material to the pad? The result: Vapor Technology.

The pad materials consist of a friction reducing, breathable top layer. 2 middle layers provide breathability and moisture transport. The main layer is where the magic happens.  We use Evapore, which is a 3D webbing with better damping qualities. When put under stress, Evapore changes into a rubberized state, so even when it’s compressed to the maximum, it still provides damping. Moreover, this material is hydrophobic, meaning it transports perspiration. The pad remains dry at all times.

The Vesper Tempest Spring Jack is developed to meet the needs of racers looking for a warm, insulative and highly visible jack, without being over-insulated during medium to high intensity trainings.  It is specifically developed for women, with an all new and revised cut.

Instead of our warmer Tempest Protect fabric, we have used Tempest. This fabric is 75% windproof, which means that it gives just the right protection when you're training hard during the winter months. 

When developing a women specific cut, the narrow waistline doesn’t provide enough space for a set of 3 externally placed pockets. 

Still, although women are often smaller they have to carry the same amount of cargo. In this jacket we have resolved this by placing 1 big back cargo pocket with a zipped right hand side entry. On the chest, we’ve inserted a waterproof zipped pocket with room for a phone and keys.

The Vesper Tempest Protect winter jacket is a highly insulative winter training jack with strategically placed Pixel inserts. 

It is feature packed and specifically designed for female riders with a new and improved cut.

This jacket is made with our reknown Tempest Protect fabric. This 100% windproof  and water repellent fabric provides superior wind and rain protection, even when you’re training at a lower pace and intensity. 

When you’re training outside during winter time, visibility and safety is a big issue. We’ve thought about that, too. Shoulder inserts are made of our Black Pixel, a highly reflective fabric that combines the windproof and water repellent characteristics of Tempest Protect with great visibility.

In terms of cargo space, we’ve chosen a different path.
